About The Exhibition

It's the ever first international Matchbox and Labels Exhibition, organised by Bangladesh Matchbox Collector's Club (BMCC), the leading organization of matchbox collectors in Bangladesh which works dedicatedly on the amazing world of phillumeny. BMCC always works with new ideas, visionary goals and impressive plans with a view to emphasizing the hobby of phillumeny as a much more sensitive, meticulous and gorgeous one that a person can ever have. BMCC is already working and experimenting painstakingly on matchboxes in Bangladesh and publishing lovely matchboxes on varuous interesting subjects frequently. From now on, BMCC will be looking forward to organising such international exhibitions each year to push the phillumenists forward to concentrate deeply on their world.

Matchboxes, though was inevitable in daily life in former days, have become of very little use nowadays and more to add, going to be extinct in a few years. The world of phillumeny has always been paradise for lovely artworks as matchboxes with beautiful artworks came out over the years that enthralled the collectors leading them to embrace phillumeny as their passionate love. Phillumenists are the people who wholeheartedly work and research on the history of matchboxes and preserve the beautiful matchboxes so that younger people from new generation can get the opportunity to know about matchboxes and their beauty. Phillumenists are working tirelessly to spread the popularity of the hobby of phillumeny so that the community of new collectors get larger and preserve the splendid matchboxes before they get extinct entirely.

This international exhibition will be a nice stage of phillumenists and will greatly increase communication, co-operation and friendship among themselves. BMCC is so much ecstatic to get the Australian Match Cover Collector's Society as associate partner for this exhibition that the gleeful expression can never be put into words satisfactorily.
