A phillumenist for over 60 years, David joined the Australian Match Cover Collectors Society (AMCCS) in 1967.

David has been President of the SA Branch of the AMCCS since 1987.

Holding the position of the Observer Magazine Editor for 13 years, David was made a Life Member in 2006.

Has published or co-published several catalogues on Australian Factories.Collects Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Match Hardware and Ephemera.
